History[]

Mostly everyone knows about how Hades got his wife. One day, Persephone was picking flowers with some nymphs, when suddenly the ground opened up, and she was grabbed by Hades and taken into the Underworld. Before that happened, Hades had been admiring her from afar, and he decided to take her, since he repulsed her a bit. Well, Hades took his captive to the Underworld and held her hostage, trying to buy her affection with gifts and food.

Meanwhile, on earth, the nymphs told Demeter about Persephone being taken, but they didn't tell her who by. She wandered the earth looking for her daughter. When she couldn't find her, everything wilted. She went to Helios, seer of everything. He said he saw Persephone taken by Hades and brought to the Underworld. When Demeter heard this, she stormed down to the Underworld to retrieve her daughter. When she got down there, she was told Persephone had eaten six pomegranate seeds. Everyone, except Persephone, knew that if you ate any food in the Underworld, you stayed there forever. Over many days of debating, it was declared Persephone would spend six months with her mom, making Demeter happy, and making plants grow, and six months with Hades, which made her mother extremely distraught so everything stopped growing. This was the cause of the seasons.

Relationships[]

One day, Persephone was 'Goddess napped' by Hades. He finally after a while got Persephone to marry him, and become Queen of the Underworld. So Persephone is the Wife of Hades, which she does sometimes have affairs.
